Tissot was formed in 1853 in the Swiss city of Le Locle, within the Neuchâtel area of the Jura Mountains, by Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Émile Tissot. In 1858, Charles-Emile Tissot traveled to Russia and sold their savonnette pocket watches throughout the Russian Empire.
Tissot serves as an official timekeeper for world championships in cycling, motorcycling, fencing, and ice hockey, among other sports. Tissot sponsored Formula One racing teams Lotus, Renault, and Sauber. Tissot created the first mass-produced pocket watch in 1853, as well as the first pocket watch with two time zones and the first anti-magnetic watch in 1929–1930. Tissot was also the first company to create watches out of plastic, stone, mother of pearl, and wood. Here’s a selection of stunning Tissot timepieces.
Tissot T-Race Quartz Nicky Hayden Limited Edition 2016 Watch
A Tissot watch that belongs to a gorgeous collection of timepieces is the Tissot T-Race Quartz Nicky Hayden Limited Edition 2016 watch. Tissot has a long history with American professional motorcycle racer Nicky Hayden and has released several special edition models in his honor. Nicky Hayden’s team identity and his lucky number 69 are featured on the Tissot T-Race Quartz Nicky Hayden Limited Edition 2016.
Also, there are cockpit-style counters, two white chronograph counters that stand out, and a small seconds counter with his star emblem at the 6 o’clock position. Nicky’s clothes’ camouflage is also reflected on the dial. A small date window is located at 3 o’clock. White Arabic numerals on the bezel, as well as SuperLuminova-filled hour and minute hands, make for easy reading, especially at high speeds. This limited-edition timepiece is housed in a masculine stainless steel case with PVD coating that measures more than 43mm in diameter and 12.80mm in thickness. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal guards the case. The case’s water resistance is 100 meters.
Some of the bike’s features are represented by a brake disc bezel and tire treads on the back of its bracelet, as well as pushers that function as footrests. The ETA G10.212 quartz chronograph movement is the watch’s core strength that provides the highest level of precision. The athletic and pleasant nature of this watch is emphasized even further by the blue rubber strap with a white GT stripe.
Tissot T-Race Thomas Lüthi Watch
Tissot paid tribute to Thomas Lüthi by using his logo as inspiration for the design of this timepiece. The colors of the racer’s team, Interwetten Paddock Moto2, grant the piece a sober appearance with its grey base and black dynamic stripes that represent the circuits on which everything takes place. The Swiss-made ETA G10.211 Quartz chronograph movement powers the watch.
There’s also an identifiable black rotating GMT bezel with white Arabic numerals, a crown with crown protection, and two chronograph pushers. The case is protected by scratch-resistant sapphire crystals and is water-resistant to 100 meters (330 feet). The wristwatch is ignited by Lüthi’s nickel-plated thunderbolt on the black dial, with yellow details adding to the eye-catching impact. The central seconds hand, and the hands on the Chrono subdials, are tinted in a bright yellow, and dashes of yellow are added to the minute track.
Thomas Lüthi’s race number 12 is framed in yellow and accentuated with bold white lettering. A 1/10th of a second chronograph counter and a 30-minute chronograph counter are located at the 2 and 10 o’clock positions, respectively, with a small seconds sub-dial at the 6 o’clock position. At the 3 o’clock position, a black-on-white date window is highlighted with an oversized magnifying lens.
Tissot T-Sport Titanium Chronograph Watch
This T-Sport Collection Timepiece is housed in a round, masculine case that measures 43mm x 43mm and is 10.92mm thick. The lightweight case only weighs 110 grams and can be worn on a titanium bracelet or a rubber strap. The watch case is shielded by a thick, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and is water-resistant to 100 meters (330 feet). A small screw-down crown and two button-shaped chronograph push-pieces are located on the right side of the case. The titanium bezel on this Tissot is fixed. The titanium chronograph has a slightly redesigned dial with three subdials.
The symmetrical placement of the edged Chrono subdials demonstrates that dynamism is important. At the 2 and 10 o’clock positions, two chronograph counters for measuring 1/10th of a second and 30 minutes are displayed, respectively, while the 60 seconds sub-dial is located at the 6 o’clock position. At the 4 o’clock position, there is a medium-sized date display. The hour and minute hands are skeletonized, and their tips are adorned with luminous material.

The innovative Swiss-made automatic chronograph ETA movement C01.211 includes functions such as a date, chronograph, and tachymeter. Its movement is also designed to withstand deep diving without causing any problems to the case or mechanism, and it has a water resistance of 100 meters.
A beautiful round case made of stainless steel that has been brushed and polished measures 42mm in diameter and 14.89mm in thickness. The Veloci-bezel T’s is also made of stainless steel and black PVD treated steel, and it is inscribed with Arabic numerals for the tachymeter scale. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects the watch’s face as well as the case-back. The dial has stainless steel indexes for the hour markers as well as steel luminous hands. The six-hour and thirty-minute chronographs are set at 6 and 12 o’clock, respectively. They are encased in their own metal ‘circuit.’ The small seconds counter is located at 9 o’clock, and on the opposite side, at 3 o’clock, there is a retro date window that resembles a TV screen. It is equipped with a C01.211 ETA movement, which ensures superior chronograph usability.
